Frequency licences Belgium
In Belgium BIPT - Belgian Institute for Post services and Telecommunication - is responsible for the management of the radio frequency spectrum and for frequency licences. This body allocates ether frequencies, is responsible for the standardisation of telecommunications equipment, proposes rules for the use of the frequency spectrum and checks whether the rules are being followed.
Programming and Administration
Flash will provide the programming of the equipment that you may require and it will take care of the administrative processing in relation to BIPT.
Adding to your licence
You can program the rented equipment using your own allocated frequencies. You must submit a copy of your licence for this. Flash will take care of the correct administrative processing in relation to BIPT.
Permanent and temporary frequency licences
There will be made difference between permanent and temporary licences. You will have to request a permanent licence when using radio equipment for a longer period. We will be more than happy to provide advice regarding the correct choice of equipment and the related costs. The licence will end as soon as it is sent back to BIPT.
A repeater or a trunking system can only be deployed when special conditions apply. You must show that the use of normal radio traffic is too limited or impossible. Flash will substantiate the problem in writing with regard to BIPT in consultation with your organisation. Should approval be granted, a special frequency will be made available for using the repeater or the trunking system.
Frequency licence costs
The licence costs depend on the type of licence (mobile/permanent networks, networks in a restricted area), the location, the power output, the frequency and the height of the antenna. All requests are treated individually and quoted by BIPT upon receipt of all necessary information. Any related costs for the licence will be invoiced by BIPT directly to you.
