Buildings constructed from large amounts of steel and concrete can obstruct radio waves, meaning there is insufficient reception of signals from C2000 and ASTRID masts. Buildings where indoor coverage is needed are often public buildings used by large numbers of people where it is crucial that the best possible services are available in the area of public order maintenance, emergency aid and security. The local authorities designate such buildings as SCLs: Special Coverage Locations.
Indoor coverage facilitated by Flash
Flash has developed several effective solutions for indoor coverage of C2000 and ASTRID networks for the emergency services at SCLs. Flash has now successfully realised indoor coverage in complex buildings at several locations – including police headquarters, prisons, car parks and exhibition, conference and shopping centres.

Before advising on the best approach, Flash measures coverage in order to determine the points within the building where additional steps need to be taken. Indoor antennas linked to a cell enhancer are then positioned at the points where reception is poor, in order to improve it. Flash’s technical solutions facilitate 100% coverage.
Flash – total supplier
In addition to offering solutions for SCLs, Flash also provides private TETRA networks, which can be deployed as an additional back-up system to C2000 networks or hired for exercises or large events. Flash products are available for sale as well as long and short-term hire, including two-way radios for the ASTRID network.

In collaboration with VTSPN, a partnership of the regional and national police services in the Netherlands, Flash has completed projects at several locations, including police stations in Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Eindhoven, the Eindhoven branch of the Netherlands Police Agency, Emergency Service Teams Zuid-Holland-Zuid, the Kiltunnel Dordrecht tunnel, Dordrecht District Court, the ‘t Weegje residential care complex in ‘s-Gravendeel, Volgerlanden sports centre, Detentiecentrum Schiphol detention centre and Alphen a/d Rijn municipal authority, Evenementenhal Gorinchem.
